npsh calculator

enter the value and click "calculate", the calculation result will be displayed.

NPSHa = (Pa-Pv+Pn) / P
NPSHa = npsh available
Pa = atmospheric pressure
Pv = steam pressure
Pn = gauge pressure at pump suction
p = density

enter a value:

air pressure (pa):
steam pressure (pv):
gauge pressure at pump suction (pn):
density:
Kg / m3

available npsh:
npsh calculator npsh calculations basically only involve the suction mechanism and have little to do with the pump. this calculation can be made by the machine operator and/or his technicians or contractors.

available vapor erosion headroom (npsha): the ratio of how close a liquid is to being hot (i.e. cavitated) at a given point. it is actually the highest weight head minus the smoke weight of the fluid.

required npsh (npshr): excitation of the head on the suction side (e.g. siphon bay) to protect the liquid from cavitation (provided by manufacturer).
