gay-lussac's law is an experimental gas law involving the pressure and temperature of a fixed mass of a gas approaching an ideal gas when the volume is held constant. this law is also called the pressure-temperature law, named after the scientist joseph louis gay-lussac who first discovered it.
the law in modern formulas states that when the volume of a gas sample is held constant, the kelvin temperature and pressure will be directly proportional.
